realization

The realization has finally dawned...Bosley is not ever going to be "fixed." The vets have done all they can do. For now, we will do our best to keep him fed, and warm and loved...and someday in the not so distant future, we will say goodbye. He is almost 5 months old, and probably 4 months older than he would have lived had we not tried so hard to make him well.

Boz thinks he might want a little Nutri-cal.

I will certainly miss him when he is gone. I have gotten quite used to having him around. I watch where I step, worried I will kick the poor little guy! I won't miss the feeling of rushing home, worried all day whether he has enough food, if he needs me, if he feels ok. I wish there was something else I could do, but I think we have exhausted our options. He is a tiny little guy, with a huge personality.

Bosley ponders the question on the box. He thinks "crap."

As I sit here this evening, he is right in front of me, on my desk between my hands as I type. He has had a great day today. He has not vomited at all. (I thought he was going to when I fed him at 3:00, but he kept it down). I still can't tell if there is any pattern, or if anything I do makes any real difference, but I keep trying. I do know when he is hungry, he gets very lovable. His little belly is full right now, so he is content to sit and purr.

Bosley strikes a pose.

I am sorry it has taken so long to post! I know people have been worried, and I started getting e-mails from folks asking about Boz. I got one from Australia! Bosley has fan all over the world! I have a part time job, and a business, and networking and my 3 other cats and a dog...well, life gets a little hectic. I will try to post more regularly. Oh, and if you don't know about 50 kittens, check them out. They have week old babies there right now!

Ripley lounges on the counter.

I'm so sorry to hear that Bosley's unfixable. He's in the best possible place he could be right now, with people who adore him. ::hugs::

Jamie.... I am SO sorry. I know that was a hard post for you to write. It's breaking my heart to read it... knowing all you have been through with Bosley.

They say that things happen for a reason... when I say that, I mean there is a reason you got that itty bitty litter back last fall... you were meant to have the little guy and brighten each other's lives. The love you have for him shines thru in every blog and FB post you make about him. All you have learned from this experience with him will make you an even better foster moving forward.

Enjoy your time with him... I will keep you, Joy, Bosley and the rest of your menagerie in my thoughts.

We have been afraid that this would be the outcome from the beginning, but opted to at least find out what (if anything) we could do. It's not really a surprise.
It's hard, but the Boz man had a great day yesterday. No vomiting, and a full belly to take to bed. :) So far, this morning looks like he is doing well. I gave him his reglan shot, and will go down to feed him in about 15 minutes.

Jamie - Boz Man is in the best hands on the planet. You fill his days with love and care. What kitty could ask for anything more?

Yes, sad times ahead. But I know you will savor these good days, creating some precious memories.

I am so glad you and Bosley found one another.

Hugs to you both!

Bosley is certainly lucky to have found such a loving home for whatever time he has with us! He's a beautiful little guy and it's great to know that he's getting all the help he needs to lead a full life, if not a long one. Best wishes for all of you, and thanks for sharing so many pictures of the little man!

Jamie I am so sorry to know that Bosley's time will be short, but you have filled his life with love. He is lucky to have you. I am thinking of you.

We know Boz loves being with you and Joy and the furry gang. He knows he's loved every day he's on this earth! I know, however, that the worry drags you down, so just take every day as it comes.

You know that you've done all you could and that this little guy has known nothing but love and warmth for all his life, however long or short it might be.

(((hugs)))

Jamie - little Boz struck gold when he landed with you and Joy. He's had 10x the life he would have had anywhere else. No matter how much longer he survives, you've made his life worthwhile and meaningful, and I'm sure he's beyond grateful for what you've done for him.

Oh boy. I am so sorry to hear this about Bosley. Although he may live a short life, just think how great his life IS----being in a home with such caring and loving people. What more could a kitty ask for? I heart Bosley!

(((Jamie & Joy))) Bittersweet tears are on my face. I know that was a tough post to write. Know that your family will stay in my thoughts and prayers in the coming days.

Your friends have said it well. Your family, bean and fur, has nurtured Boz and given him love, warmth, joy and fun. There are no greater gifts.

Don't worry about posting. We'll keep checking in to let you know we're thinking about you!
